Happy birthday to me, happy birthday to me! Hello all! If you couldn't already guess, today is my 23rd birthday and I am so excited. I absolutely love birthdays and this year is no exception. One of my favorite birthday traditions is the birthday outfit. And no, it has nothing to do with your birthday suit!
Anyways, every year, before my birthday, I either plan an outfit or buy something for an outfit that I save up for my birthday. Last year, it was these
awesome shoes. And this year, it's this dress!
I love doing this because it makes the piece feel special and it gives me that extra oomph of confidence on my actual birthday. I found this dress in early January and immediately fell in love. I knew right away that I was going to save it for today. So, I hid it in my closet as I planned my outfit.
I love this dress first and foremost for the color. This deep burgundy is a favorite of mine and I love how the cool mint pops against it. The other thing I love about this dress is the cut. It is such a flattering design that has an old world feel with the length and the sleeves, but a modern take with the keyhole-front vent.
I could not be happier with my birthday look this year, especially since I was able to use one of my gifts (this clutch was a gift from my best friend Kate!). Well, I'm off to relax and celebrate! Happy weekend! Until next time, XO
