Hello all! Off-the-shoulder has become the trend of the season and I am loving it! I was a little hesitant at first because I'm not normally one to bare a lot of skin. As we all know, my go to is a turtle-neck so anything off-the-shoulder is a little out there for me. However, I have found myself searching out off-the-shoulder pieces and generally loving this style.
The key for me has been finding pieces that still fit within my style wheel house. This has meant girly details and still a classic look. Ruffles have been great for this as they are easy to find with an off-the-shoulder look. They add the girly-ness I am always looking for and make it easy to wear this top without too much jewelry.
If you aren't ready to totally commit to off-the-shoulder, a one-shoulder top can be a good transition. I like this particular one because it is great for a summer day with white jeans, but would also be easy to dress up with jeans and heels for a night out.
With an off-the-shoulder look, I think a necklace can be a lot. However, statement earrings can be a great alternative if you are looking to add a little pop to your outfit. Some of my favorite statement earrings are
here if you need some ideas.
For this look, I wanted to keep everything pretty simple because I wore it to brunch. This top is so easy to dress up and for once I didn't want to go overboard. White jeans are great with a top like this because they tone it down a notch, plus the white really makes the black top pop.
I also like the idea of wearing your hair up with this kind of top because it really shows off the ruffle and the off-the-shoulder aspect. If your hair is down, you almost lose that, which would be a shame! Until next time, XO
