Staying with the layering theme, an easy way to begin a layered outfit is with a black skirt and a white button down. This is a classic combination that you know will look good and is probably in your comfort zone. You also could substitute the black skirt for jeans or black pants. From there, add a crew-neck sweater with a fun pattern or a little color to brighten up the look. To finish it, add a brightly colored, but solid vest so it isn't too much with the pattern of your sweater.
For finishing touches, I like a big, but simpler necklace and fun shoes. The white soles on the bottom of these shoes was the perfect tie in to my white button-down. The key to an outfit like this is to inject your personality to make it yours. For me, that meant my leather skirt instead of jeans and fun, neon polka dots. But for you, it could be something completely different. You can still follow this formula, just personalize it so you are comfortable in it.
Not only is an outfit like this fun, but it is also extremely comfortable and will keep you warm on these crisp fall days. Happy weekend!
