Pink Polka Dots

Tuesday, September 29, 2015

As you can probably tell by now, I love to wear pink. But for some reason, I have always struggled to incorporate these shorts into my wardrobe. But I have a trick and my family and friends will tell you how often I say this...just pretend it's black. Whenever I have trouble wearing something, normally it's because I have trouble with the idea, in this case, pink polka dot shorts don't go with anything! But if you pretend it's black, then you can truly figure out fun outfits and it helps you get out of your comfort zone. Any fun ideas for wearing difficult pieces? XO

Fun Fact: My favorite movie right now is Age of Adeline with Blake Lively because I am obsessed with Blake Lively plus the costumes are INCREDIBLE. If you are looking for a cute love story, I would definitely recommend this!

Leather and Lace

Monday, September 28, 2015

It is always harder to wear certain things if they have a weird connotation. Take leather shorts for example. My immediate reaction is leather booty shorts that are probably extremely inappropriate. But these are leather shorts. And they aren't inappropriate! So how do you wear them? I think the key is to keep in mind that stereotype so you don't fall into it, but then just do what you want. My philosophy when it comes to fashion is to wear what you like and what makes you happy. No matter what is in style or what everyone else is wearing. So that is what I did and here is the Taylor take on Leather Shorts! XO
So I will also be doing a new thing every post. At the bottom, before the links, there is going to be a fun fact of some kind so y'all can get to know me. Feel free to tell me your fun facts in the comments!
Fun Fact of the Day: I love wrinkly dogs especially ones for smashed faces. For examples, check out my Pinterest page

Emmy's 2015

Tuesday, September 22, 2015

Did you watch the Emmy's Sunday night? I wasn't able to, but I caught the highlights yesterday and I was very impressed by the style. For these award shows, everyone always looked incredible and that was no different on Sunday. However, the style seemed so much more attainable this time. The dresses are beautiful as always but also feasible for someone who isn't a size 0 and 5ft. 10 in. to wear. I love that a new style is developing that includes stunning gowns, but also trends that anyone could incorporate into their wardrobe. Here are some of my favorite looks. What did y'all think of this year's award show? Anyone who you think I should have included? XO
Amy Poehler is one of my favorite people and I love her take on the cut-out trend.

Emma Roberts always looks great, but I like how understated and elegant this ensemble is.

Jumpsuits are one of my favorite things and January Jones knocked this one out of the park.

I am in love with the detail on the bodice and then the cutaway skirt of Joanna Newsom's dress. The layering is so interesting and the color is my favorite...Pink!

Joanne Froggatt is adorable in general, but I especially love the black details that give this dress an extra pop.

I love the metallic details of this dress. Kerry Washington looks incredible and  did a good job of not over-doing it with too many accessories or statement pieces.

Kiernan Shipka is one of those people who I always look out for at awards shows. Her style has evolved recently into an incredibly hip, but also elegant take on fashion that I adore.

Sophie Turner is another one of those people who I always look out for. I love the rich blue velvet set off by the stark black.

Have you seen the Kate Spade #MissAdventures videos with Anna Kendrick? They are adorable and funny and you should watch them if you haven't. The third episode was just released and is below. Here is the link for the rest of the videos. What do you think? Weird or super cute? XO

Black and White Color Blocks

Monday, September 14, 2015

Downtown Greenville, South Carolina is one of my favorite places and conveniently, my sister goes to school in Greenville so I get to visit quite often. Greenville itself is a beautiful town, but over the past 10 years or so, they have redone the downtown area so it is pedestrian friendly, there are a bunch of delicious, local restaurants, nice parks, and some cute hopes to look through. All in all an incredible place to spend time! Oh, also, that pop of color on my bag...well I wrapped a scarf around the strap. I absolutely love doing this because it gives a fun, vintage feel to any bag or outfit as well as adding a little extra color. XO

Tori Kelly

Thursday, September 10, 2015

If you haven't already heard of Tori Kelly, then this is the perfect blog post for you! Tori is an American singer/ songwriter who just released her debut album this summer. She performed at the VMAs a couple of weeks ago as well and was absolutely incredible. This girl has major chops and great style so go check her out! Here is my favorite song from the album that she performed at the VMAs, but also listen to All in My Head and I Was Made for Loving You ( a collaboration with Ed Sheeran). Any good music recommendations? XO

Pink Sparkles with Navy

Tuesday, September 8, 2015

What does every outfit need? A little bit of pink! I wear a lot of black and navy, but I adore pink in almost every form. And I have found that the best way to wear pink is as an accessory to brighten up my otherwise neutral outfits. I love this shade of pale pink because it is extremely versatile and very feminine, but not overly girly. For this outfit at least, it just adds that extra pop and turns an otherwise boring outfit into a statement. Do you have any tricks for wearing pink or brightening up neutrals? XO
