Dog Blog instead of Fashion Blog?

Monday, March 23, 2015

So I was going to update y'all on my life in this post and a cool outfit I wore in Missouri. However, I just realized that the dogs are way more excited than my outfit so we are going to talk about them! The golden is Katie's dog Teddy who is a cuddly little monster. He is adorable and acts like a cat which is hilarious since he weighs 85 pounds. Every time I would sit in a chair, Teddy would jump on  top of me and become a puppy blanket for a while. The other puppy is McKenzie's adorable yorkiepoo Fitzgerald. He has grown so much since we picked him up in the fall and he is amazing! I was never really a dog person, but after these two, I have definitely changed my tune!
In other news, my mom writes a fabulous food blog, Butter and Baggage. As someone who eats her food regularly, I can tell you her food is amazing so make sure to check it out! Until next time XO

"I'm the bus driver, I know these things"

Monday, March 16, 2015

While in Missouri, Katie and I went to a high school basketball game because her cousin is one of the coaches. It was the semifinals of the state championship so it was very competitive and Katie and I really got into the game. We were yelling at the refs and cheering every time our team scored. An older gentleman was sitting in front of us and he was clearly connected with the team in some way because he knew everyone's name and jumped up and down after we scored. After one really exciting play that ended in our team scoring, the gentleman turned around to Katie and me. He pointed at the boy who had just scored and said "See that young man? He's really good and he doesn't have a girlfriend. I'm their bus driver, I know these things." Then he winked at us before turning around and returning to his seat. Katie and I just looked at each other and laughed as we cheered for our team who went on to win the game.

DC and other fun happenings

Friday, March 13, 2015

So from the pictures in yesterday's post, y'all know I was in DC this past weekend. I hadn't been up there in a while and I have to say it was incredible. We went up specifically to visit two art museums and had a wonderful time exploring the museums as well as eating really good food. First, we went to the National Gallery to see the Piero di Cosimo special exhibit. It was interesting to see the works, but not exactly my style. I did however love the impressionist exhibit and they had a really amazing collection of 18th and 19th century European paintings, which is what I have been studying for the past year. All in all, this is an amazing museum and I would really recommend it on your next trip to DC.
The other museum we visited was the National Museum of Women in the Arts. I had never heard of this museum, but it was perfect as I am currently taking a Gender and Art in the Renaissance class. Walking through this museum, I felt like an expert! Anyways, this small museum was very well done and definitely someplace to stop if you are interested in female artists.
Currently, I am in Missouri with my best friend who is from Jefferson City. I had never been to Missouri and didn't really have any expectations, but I am having a lovely time. We flew into St. Louis and were able to explore a little and it is a very cool city. I love traveling new places, and so far this spring break has been a fabulous adventure full of traveling, food, art, and good friends. XO
