Bringing in fall with maxi dresses and scarves!

Friday, September 27, 2013

Hello and happy Friday! I am so glad it's Friday because it has been such a long week! I had two tests and wasn't really feeling like dressing cute, so jeans and graphic t-shirts were my uniform. I had been feeling rather grunge, which is super fun sometimes, but I decided to dress up today to make up for my less than exciting wardrobe this week. Ta-da! Maxi dress and chunky heels! A super easy combo, but also super comfy and fun. I also tried a couple of different ways to take pictures to show off my jewelry more. My friend and I, at school, are going to start experimenting a little more with pictures, so bear with us! I hope y'all have had a wonderful week and a fabulous start to your weekend! XO

Scarf: My favorite infinity scarf! I couldn't find the same one, but the color scheme is similar. I also go to Anthropologie or Target for scarves! Earrings: mine are vintage that a friend gave me for my birthday; Dress: a fabulous and versatile maxi dress from gap; Shirt: classic chambray Socks: awesome polka dot socks from Madewell! Heels: chunky heels are always a fall staple for me in the fall :) Link braceletWatchCuffsWrap BraceletSparkly braceletGlasses.

Emmys, Fitzgerald, Outfit, and contact info

Tuesday, September 24, 2013

Hello and wow is there so much to say today!!! OK I have four main things to say today so bear with me :) First of all, Happy Birthday F. Scott Fitzgerald!! He was born today in 1896 and as one of my favorite authors and all of the stuff with Gatsby lately, I thought he deserved a mention! For more F. Scott info, check out this bio. Also, adorable picture :)

Ok second thing... Sunday was the Emmy's, which I wasn't able to watch because of bunches of homework. However, I did check out some of the looks today and I thought I would share some of my favorites. Anyways, who doesn't love fabulous dresses?! I'll post the pictures at the bottom because there are quite a few :) Moving on! Today I had a meeting for another blogging opportunity. I have to apply so hopefully I will get the job and can link those blog posts on here too! The other benefit of the interest meeting was that I wanted to make a good first impression so I dressed up and remembered to take pictures! Yay!!

Bag: My favorite tote bag, literally the perfect size! Shirt: One of my many chambray shirts; Belt: It seems like I wear this belt every other day :) Dress: Such a versatile maxi dress, even though I normally wear it as a skirt. The link is for a similar skirt because this dress is a couple of years old, Necklace: An amazingly versatile necklace, but still able to make a statement; Mint Chain Necklace: gotta love my mint! Cuffs: So glad I bought these because they are the perfect layering pieces; Link Bracelet: my favorite new bracelet that I never want to take off! Watch: love my tort watch :)

Finally, if you hadn't already noticed, I just recently changed the layout of the blog. I really like the new look, but I am still working out the kinks. Because of that, my about page with all of my contact info isn't up yet :( so here is all of that info in case you forgot or need it! Bloglovin, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, Tumblr, leftylivinglife@gmail.com, Her Campus, Her Campus Pinterest
Whew that was a lot! Definitely making up for my sporadic posts with this one :) XO

New outfit, new her campus article, and patent leather

Friday, September 20, 2013

Hello readers! Happy Friday and thank goodness! I don't think I would have made it another day because I have been sick all week, yucky! However, today I am finally starting to feel better so I put together a cute outfit and everything! I am pretty excited because I look pretty awesome if I do say so myself :) In another news, I had another article published on her campus about mixing patterns! Check it out here and just by the way, none of the pictures are mine but are courtesy of other bloggers on Pinterest! Finally, today in 1819 Patent Leather was made for the first time in Newark! And who doesn't LOVE patent leather?! That's all for today :) XO

Shirt: This shirt is secretly pin stripe but it is rather hard to see in the picture :( however, it is the perfect button down because it is still feminine; Belt: My favorite hot pink belt;  Shorts: Fabulous and polka dots that my mom lent me for the rest of the summer/fall! Bracelet: This bracelet came in the mail yesterday from J.Crew! I am so excited to use it for layering :) Shoes: surprisingly versatile and comfortable Jack Rodgers; Umbrella: Did I mention earlier that it rained today? Well it did and it was very unexpected :( but I was prepared!

Anthropologie Fashion Show and Taylor Swift!

Friday, September 13, 2013

Shoes: I couldn't find the exact ones because these are very old; Jeans: These are JBrand, but I couldn't' find the exact ones online. Also, if you buy them in a store, they are normally cheaper then the online price; Clutch: Again, I couldn't find the exact one, but these two are very cute, I checked them out last night at Anthro :) here and here Belt: My favorite accessory right now because it is the perfect amount of color! Shirt: My favorite chambray shirt! It is the perfect color! Necklace: Seems like this necklace is all I wear these days :) Bracelets: All from Jewelmint as usual!

Whew! Last night was the social event of my season- a fashion show and a concert! But man was it fun! The fashion show was super fun and there were a couple of really cute looks! Here are the highlights. Also I must say that I was very impressed with myself that I came up with such a cute outfit :) Anyways, Taylor Swift was also amazing, but it is very difficult to take pictures during a concert so I don't have any :( I hope y'all have had a fabulous week and have exciting plans this weekend! XO

Mom and didn't coordinate or anything but ended up wearing very similar outfits! Great minds think alike :)

Black and blue and a beautiful day

Jewelry: either from my mom's jewelry box or Jewel Mint; Shirt: I couldn't find the exact one, but I have this one in cream and really like it. Also this one looked very fun with the leather bottom if you wanted to try something new :) Pants: Again I couldn't find the exact ones, but these look cute if you want something bright and these seem like a nice navy staple. Shoes: These always make me feel 10 times cooler :)

Hello everyone! I hope your weeks have started off nicely! Mine has gone fabulously so far! First, my article on my school's version of Her Campus was published today...check it out here! Also check out the Pinterest page devoted to my Her Campus blog here
In other news, as you probably know, it is New York Fashion Week and sadly I am not there :( However, I am going to the Anthropologie fashion show on Thursday, which should be very exciting! I am also going to a Taylor Swift concert on Thursday.
All in all, this is going to be a very fun filled week and I can't wait to fill y'all in with pictures from my adventures on Thursday! XO

Royal blue and pearls

Friday, September 6, 2013

Hello! Although our summer was not very warm and very rainy, it has finally warmed up this past week. It is so nice to be wearing shorts when walking from class to class! In other news, I am writing a how to fashion blog for my school's section of Her Campus and I will hopefully be posting of linking the articles here! Get excited for this weeks article on how to do a top knot! I know, kind of a silly topic since I can't do a top knot, but my friend has lots of hair so she volunteered to model for me :) Have a wonderful and fun filled Friday! XO

Glasses: my trusty glasses that go with everything; Shirt: I love button downs, but this is definitely my favorite one, the color is fantastic! Necklace: J.Crew pearls; Shorts: not quite the same, but I think I like the linked shorts better! Watch: My watch is back with new batteries! Cuffs: Jewelmint has great layering jewelry! Sparkly bracelet: Bauble Bar
